Love Story in Taylor Swift’s Jakarta RED Concert
Last week, one of my favorite singer, Taylor Swift,held a concert in Mata ELang International Stadium. It was my most anticipated concert of the year. I personally love all her songs because all of athem are so powerful and I always like. “you really know how does it feel, Tay”. We bought the Bronze class, the cheapest ones. We actually want the Silver ticket, but all of them are just sold out in a first few minutes of the sale.
That night, we can see Taylor upclose.. her sweating, her hair, her lips, her dance.. everything seems so close. I can even forgot that I am already 25 years old, so I sang, jumped, and shouted out loud that night. It was a magical experience to see someone whom you just see in the screen in a real form. She sang, danced, played instruments, talked, laughed.. and we all like paralyzed by her. She sang, danced, and magically hypnothized us to remember the story of each song in our life.
Here are the tracks she performed.
1. State of Grace
This is the opening song. State of grace itself refers to the initial condition in the Eden, when Adam and Eve haven’t done any sin. It’s not only the initial condition, but also the crossroads when you have to choose where will you take your way. It’s the same with love. Love is a ruthless game, unless you plat it good and right. It’s about the possibilities, the different ways where it could go when you first fall in love with someone.
2. Holy Ground
This song is one of my favourite and she performed it in the best way she could. This is about reminiscing the old good day, when you are with someone you’ve ever loved. You enjoyed every time being on his side. It was really good that you still see his face in the crowd. I can still remember one or two faces that make me feel that kind of feeling.
I guess we fell apart in the usual way.
And the story’s got dust on every page,
But sometimes I wonder how you think about it now.
And I see your face in every crowd.
3. Red
Red was the most dominant color in the concert. Of course! I love how she paint the stadium in red. Moreover, I love the feeling that she put in this song. She represented the intense emotion of love in one particular color: burning red. Remembering the young age, the young blood, the burning emoting, ang the heartbroken pain.
Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead end street.
The romance was so fun and so promising, but all of the sudden it was over and your ride in the Maserati was done because you came to the end of the road.
4. The Lucky One
Remember Britney’s Lucky? I think this is the Taylor’s version of that song. The song is about getting famous and kind of thinking how those all will end up. She feels like caught up in this whole thing, but there are still lonely and feeling misunderstood and feeling like when people think you’re lucky that you’re really not. You’re scared of a lot of things for a lot of the time, but the trade-off of being able to get on a big stage and sing your songs — it’s worth it.
5. Mean
Everyone of us must have this one person in mind when we listen to this song. The person who are enjoying of being mean to you. This happens no matter what you do, no matter how old you are, no matter what your job is, no matter what your place is in life, there’s always gonna be someone who’s just mean to you. I personally feel that with an old friend who is being so good in the beginning, but then continually hurts me with her critics and discrimination that I can’t stand being on her side any longer.
6. 22
I always feel the passion of being young when I listen to this song. It’s about being happy, free, confuse, and lonely in the best way. I remember the day when all you have to think is about college, friendship, boyfriends.. no burden and no consequences. Personally I remember my last holiday in Malaysia and Singapore with my besties. How carefree it was!
7. Fifteen
She sang this song while playing her guitar. This is the kind of song that took you back then when you were fifteen years old. The old mistakes, the first love, all the things that you regret now. There are times in life that you really want to be liked by others. Wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now 😉
8. You Belong With Me
Again, with her guitar. I actually the red version of this song, when she performed it in 60’s style. But this one is not bad. I have this one guy that I admire so much, but then he started dating my friend.. up until now. Yeah, You like this guy who you have for your whole life, and you know him better than she does but somehow the popular girl gets the guy every time. I still like him in my way anyway, and this song best describe my feeling toward him.
9. Sparks Fly
Still with her guitar, she played this song. I kinda like the energy of this song. I love the feeling of sparks fly and the kiss on the sidewalk in the pouring rain!

10. I Knew You Are Trouble
A face appeared in my mind when I listened to this song that night. You know this guy will only bring trouble to you since the very beginning, but still you give him a chance. Everything run so fast.. he found you, you went out with him, saw his good sides, fell in love.. then BAM! You’re lying in the cold hard ground. That’s the roller coaster of love, right?
11. All Too Well
Taylor played a piano while she’s singing this song. She really good at it. From the laugh, jump, and dance, she turned us down to this sad song. I think this is one of the song that she has witten that got to my head very often. The lyric is very deep. It is like remembering the old days that you know never gonna happen anymore. A guy with a sweet disposition, introduced you to his family, you were getting lost upstate together, and you know remember almost every detail of him all too well. But then it didn’t work out. Everything couldn’t be the same anymore.
After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own, now you mail back my things and I walk home alone.
12. Love Story
This is the first song I’ve heard of Taylor and I just liked her ever since. I love the story of Romeo and Juliet, except for the ending, and I love how the story in the song has different ending. I think that every girl has a little bit of that hope and that want that you can met Prince Charming and he can swoop you off your feet and you can live happily ever after. The song is about a love that’s maybe difficult and there are a lot of obstacles, but it’s worth it because it’s real.
13. We are never ever getting back together
And we got to the end of the concert. How fast the time flies when you are enjoying it. She wore the red circus costume and looked definitely beautiful in it. Everyone in the arena sang out loud like never before ~
